We have focused this month on continuing to update the Calendar feature. We also made some updates to our integration settings, allowing our athletic integrations to be tagged with Event Types.
Manage Event Types
Users now have the ability to add Event Types to new and existing events. Event types have been added so you can label specific events on the Calendar and can filter for those events. For example, "Athletic", "Music", "Academic", etc. Please click HERE to learn more about Event Types.
Save your Calendar Viewing Preferences
Users now have the ability to save their Calendar view. Anytime the Calendar is selected, it will pull your personal saved view. Please click HERE to learn more about saving your Calendar view.
Ability to Add Information to the Calendar
Users with the permission "Add Information to Calendar" can now enter text info on select dates. The information will not block out the date. Information such as letter days or holidays can now be added. Please click HERE to learn more about adding information to the Calendar.
Ability to Link Integration iCals to an Event Type
District Admins will have the ability to sync their existing iCal links with certain athletic integrations. In the Integration settings page, there will be an Edit option next to the iCal link. Here you can tag an iCal with an Event Type. Once the Requests are synced over, they will have the following Event Type associated with them. Please click HERE to learn more about linking an Event Type.
Ability to link each Space iCal URL to an Event Type
District Admins will also be able to link Event Types based on a Spaces ICal link. Here you will be able to tag an Event Type based on the Space that is being used and syncing over from another program.
Please click HERE to learn more about linking an Event Type.
Associating the Manage Blocked Dates Feature With a Permission
Previously, users needed to have the District Admin Role in order to have access to this feature. We have gone ahead and updated this feature to be permission-based. Users will now need the "Manage Blocked Dates" permission in order to have access to this feature. The permission can be applied on the Manage User page. Please click HERE to learn more about this transition.
Ability to show a Legend on the Calendar Report and Public-facing Calendar
Depending on how the Districts Calendar settings have been set up there will be a Legend that displays on both Calendars. The Legend will be color-coded by Spaces or Event Types. Please click HERE for more information on the Calendar Legend.
Please feel free to submit a support ticket if you have any questions or would like to implement these features in your system. http://support.mlschedules.com/support/tickets/new
