ML Schedules™ K12 Facility Use Software now allows districts to display their Event information within their public website in four different visual formats:
- List View
- Calendar View (most popular)
- Grid View
- Dated List View (most popular)
District-wide display of events on a public web page is controlled within ML Schedules™ software using the Show Event Details to the Public setting on the District Wide Settings screen:
- Show displays the event name, start and end times, and select details on the District website.
- Hide displays the text “Not Available” on all event entries displayed in a District’s web-based calendar.
IMPORTANT: The display of events from a District’s ML Schedules Software account onto its public website is implemented by the District’s webmaster using the code found in the Public Display Settings page accessed from the Settings menu.
This post provides:
- Examples of each option for the public view of Events, and;
- Instructions for the District webmaster to locate the desired View code from its ML Schedules™ software account that needs to be pasted into the District website.
Examples of Public View Options
Based on the specific code pasted into a District’s website, ML Schedules™ software can display event information in four visual formats on the District web page. Online samples of these views can be displayed by selecting Settings Public Display Settings.
- List View : Event Name, Date, Start and End Time and Space are displayed in List format.
Note: If enabled, canceled events will appear on this view and will be crossed out.
2. Calendar View: The same data displayed in Calendar format. Hovering a mouse over an event displays detail in Calendar format

3. Grid View: The same data displayed in Grid format.
4. Dated List View: Event Name, Date, Start and End Time and Space are displayed in List format with calendar icon.
Note: Like any of our reports there is a filtering option () at the top left of the report.
District Webmaster Instructions
You must be logged into ML Schedules™ software as an Admin to view the code that displays each type of Public View.
- List View
- Calendar View
- Grid View
- Dated List View
- Select Public Display Settings from the Settings drop-down menu. The Public Display Settings screen will be displayed with an index of each View type.
- Select the desired View to choose how your District’s data will be displayed URL listed.
- Copy the URL for the desired view type and paste it into the desired position on the District’s website.
Note: District’s can opt to allow website users to view Event data in more than one format by including multiple view options with the appropriate view code.
Optional Calendar View Setup
The Calendar View allows you to choose which information will be shown on your public facing calendar, by taking the following steps:
- Select Admin > Settings > Public Display Tab
- From here you can choose which of the following information will be shown on your calendar using the Yes/No drop down; Event Name, Group Name, Site Name, Space Name.
4. Click Save Public Display Settings at the bottom of the page.
5. You will also find an index of each View type located at the bottom of this page.
6. Select and Copy the Calendar View URL.
7. Paste the URL into the desired position on the District’s website.
Optional Dated List View Setup
The Dated List View allows you to color code the feed to match each building at your district’s website, by doing the following:
- Select Locations > Manage Sites
- Click the edit () icon next to the building you want to set up.
- In the Embedded List View Color field pick the color you would like to use.
- Take note of the Site Id listed at the top of the Manage Sites page (this will be used when posting the Dated List View URL to your website.)
- Click Save.
- Select Public Display Settings from the Settings drop-down menu. The Public Display Settings screen will be displayed with an index of each View type.
- Select and Copy the Dated List View URL.
- Paste URL into the desired position on the District’s website and replace “[site]” with Site Id #.
For example you will see a URL that looks like:
http://dev.MLSchedules.com/ReservationsIframe.aspx?p=4&v=d&si=[site id] |
You will want to enter the Site Id, so that it looks like:
http://dev.MLSchedules.com/ReservationsIframe.aspx?p=4&v=d&si=14 |
To use the District-Wide List View:
1. Choose your Embedded List View Color from the Public Calendar section in the Public Display Settings, located by going to Admin > Settings > Public Display Tab.
2. Use the Dated List View found in the Public Display Settings section (Admin > Settings > Public Display Tab). You will now list a site id (so you will use everything up to “&si=[site id]“.)
Note: To show something other than the next 7 days of events, add “&d=number of days you want to show” to the end of the URL provided. For example to show a month view of events, you could add “&d=30”.
